It's been about six months since Bing unveiled its social sidebar, and the search engine is now testing a new format that drops the gray background and shows more matching content from friends and social networks....

Google Launches ‘Disavow Links’ Tool

Google has launched a new and widely anticipated "disavow links" tool. The tool was announced by Matt Cutts, the head of Google's web spam team, when speaking during a keynote at the Pubcon conference yesterday. The tool is live. It has been beta tested by selected search engine optimization experts for the past few weeks. About 45 minutes after Cutts spoke, Google formally announced the tool on its Webmaster Central blog. Bing launched its own disavow links tool earlier this year.
