Not only did Facebook register several domain names yesterday related to "Publishing Garage," like PublishingGarage.com (WHOIS) and FacebookPublishingGarage.com (WHOIS), but a quick search for "Facebook Publishing Garage" brings up the website of Addie Marino, a creative strategist at Facebook in New York City, whose logo design work includes this new program....

Facebook watchers — particularly those of the Wall Street variety — are eager for the social network to launch a third-party ad network that will eventually take on Google's AdMob for mobile and Google's AdSense for the web in general. The idea, talked about for a while, is that Facebook will mix the data it receives from websites plugged into the social network — think every time you "share" or "like" something — with data it has from within Facebook to serve up ads across the web.

foursquare has made a quick response to Monday's announcement of Facebook Nearby, with its own announcement that foursquare Explore is cranking up its personalization. The irony? It's going to use foursquare activity
from a user's Facebook friends to improve the recommendations in Explore. Think of it as foursquare judo: It's using Facebook data to battle against Facebook itself. Touché!
