Google Rolls Out First Panda Refresh of 2013

Beware the Panda. According to a tweet from the official @Google Twitter account yesterday morning, a new data refresh was rolled out. This update, according to the notice, should only affect 1.2 percent of English language queries. No other information is available so far....

Last Thursday, there were many webmasters and SEOs who felt Google had a major algorithm or index update. The update was thought to be the size of a major algorithm update such as when Google pushed out Panda, Penguin or any of those other major updates. A Google spokesperson told us there was no update that they were aware of. In fact, they told us there was definitely no Panda update and as far as they know, no other update that took place on or around Thursday, Dec. 13.

When it comes to updating its search algorithm, Google takes some sharp steps to make sure that it maintains the actual exercise of whitehat search engine optimization. The only motto behind this is to deliver better and much more reliable search results to users. Continuing on this line, this time too, the EMD update that Google introduced along with the Panda update will issue a check and reduce the "low quality" exact match domains in the search results. Disavow was yet another blow to traditional link building. Site owners can now clean low-quality, outbound links off their site.
